COLD FLAME RELEASE NEW
ALBUM
Over the years Cold Flame have visited the sweaty confines of several local
north of England radio stations giving interviews, playing live in the studio
and generally promoting the merits of the Flame music.All good fun.Now they
have gone one stage further and having been secluded in the recording studio
recently, the results sees the release of a very special limited edition retrospective
album on Thursday June 5th. Entitled'The Radio Archives' the band's latest
CD is a collection of 15 acoustic and electric blues recordings made by Cold
Flame ten years ago in local radio stations in Derbyshire and Cheshire featuring
material best described as being 'easy on the ear'.The material includes both
original material written by bassist Patrick such as 'Another Day Gone' and
'Count Me Out' alongside well known blues covers from the likes of Cream,
Albert King, Bill Withers and Steve Vai.Accompanying the band on some of these
recordings is Buxton musician Chas Duncan who tragically died from heart disease
last year.Chas played on several tracks on the Stormcloud album back in 1999.In
many ways this album is a tribute to the memory of the classically trained
pianist who was a very good friend both on and off stage and there are several
examples on the album of Chas's excellent musicianship.
In keeping with the 'special' tag that this new album brings, Cold Flame have
decided to donate all proceeds from 'THE RADIO
ARCHIVES' to help local people in the community. The band have chosen
two separate local beneficiaries both of whom will receive half of all the
proceeds made through CD sales. Glossop youngster James Wilmot who suffers
from brain damage will need daily medical support throughout his life.Both
James' mother and grandmother are known personally to the band. Marie Curie
Cancer Care is a national organisation with outlets throughout the country
including one in the centre of Glossop. Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high
quality nursing, totally free to give terminally ill people the choice of
dying at home supported by their families. A Marie Curie Nurse provides specific
care, such as giving medications and treatments and monitoring their effectiveness.
Because the Marie Curie Nurse is in the home for several hours at a time,
she can give the patient’s regular carer (usually family members) the
chance to take a break from caring. This service is provided free of charge,
365 days of the year and 24 hours a day.The band are proud to be associated
with such a worthy cause. 'The Radio Archives' CD which is priced at £5

NEW GIGS
By way of explaination,there is a new blog on the band myspace website reflecting
recent changes to the gig diary.However the gig guide has just been fully
updated with lots of new gigs and several more awaiting confirmation.Please
check out regularly as things develop.Meantime two key events to celebrate
over the summer with the band once more travelling to Europe as well as being
featured in an international blues festival
3RD VIENNA FOLK FESTIVAL JULY 2008
Cold Flame are once more off to Europe in July when they headline the 3rd
Vienna Folk Festival at the TUWI Theatre in Vienna. In addition to the festival,
the band are also planning to play at least one other show in the Austrian
city.The line up for this trip is Patrick, Rob, Paul and Dave Conner who is
filling in for Davyd who is away on a family holiday at the same time.The
band are hoping that at least some of their European friends can make it to
what looks an excellent festival line up.For more info check out the blog

THE COLNE BLUES FESTIVAL AUGUST 2008
Regarded as the premier blues festival in the north of England and one of
the best in the UK with bands and artists booked from across the Globe. Cold
Flame mark their debut at the festival in August with two shows highlighting
the band's wealth of quality original rock/blues material.Check out the gig

ORIGINAL MATERIAL/ NEW ALBUM
There has been plans for some time to record a new album of original material.These plans have been put on hold on a number of occasions during the last eighteen months as the complexities of life have affected band member timetables.The opportunity to play in Vienna and at the Colne Festival in Lancashire during the summer where the emphasis will be on the band's original material, as well as a number of recent requests from radio stations around the north west of England to perform some studio sessions has clearly illustrated that the time is now right to present new original material both live and ultimately in the studio for CD release.The band is currently rehearsing new material some of which will be previewed this summer.
NEW DISTRIBUTION COMPANY
TO WORK WITH COLD FLAME RECORDS
Having linked up with Record Village over the last 12 months as the band's
chief record distributor for Cold Flame merchandise, it is with regret that
recently due to unforeseen circumstances, the Lincolnshire based Company has
ceased trading. Cold Flame have now secured a new distribution deal with UK
based AQUILA ENTERTAINMENT who will be distributing all Cold Flame merchandise
