SUNDAY OCTOBER 15th - THE WITCHWOOD CLUB ASHTON U LYNE - WILD TURKEY with special guests COLD FLAME ACOUSTIC
For the elder statesmen among you, when original Jethro Tull bassist Glenn Cornick left the band in late 1970, he formed Wild Turkey who made a name for themselves both in the UK and America touring with Tull and Black Sabbath amongst others and releasing two quality studio albums 'Battle Hymn' and 'Turkey'. Earlier this year, Wild Turkey reformed after a 10 year break with a new line up that in addition to several original members sees Glenn Cornick once more link up with legendary Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker. Wild Turkey have now released a brand new studio album which has been featured in their recent UK tour - see their website at www.myspace.com/glenncornickswildturkey Negotions have already taken place with Turkey's management for Cold Flame to support Glenn and his band on some dates on their Spring 2007 UK Tour. Meanwhile Wild Turkey who have always had a close affinity to the north west and especially Manchester and will be marking their Autumn Tour 06 finale with a concert at The
Witchwood in Ashton U Lyne on Sunday October 15th with Cold Flame Acoustic booked as special guests. Check out Wild Turkey's website at www.myspace.com/glenncornickswildturkey

TULL TRIBUTE SHOWS
A huge Thank You goes out to everyone who came along back in July to check out and support the band's Jethro Tull tribute shows. The response received was truly tremendous and the band have been very encouraged by the continuing positive feedback received.Admittedly numbers were down on a couple of shows but summer hols, the continuing heatwave and the after effects of the World Cup didnt help our cause. During the last few weeks several 'new' classic Tull tracks have been rehearsed by the guys and some if not all of these will be appearing during this Autumn's gig schedule.Check the band gig guide for further details especially now that it has been corrected and updated. Fingers crossed !
NEW ALBUMS
Cold Flame released a brand new studio compilation album - Still Burning the Blues Vol 2 - of previously unreleased original material back in July. The feedback following this release has been great and again this is something that the band is very pleased with. Good job as with whatever spare time can be found over the next couple of months, the band individually and collectively will be hard at work on remastered rereleases, new acoustic and electric studio material and live recordings. It is difficult at the moment to predict which projects will be completed first but rest assured you will be the first to know and we can guarantee there will be something new to buy before Xmas.
Work is well under way recording tracks for a Cold Flame Acoustic studio album featuring Davyd, Patrick, Paul and Robert. This is being recorded using the Cold Flame mobile equipment mainly at Cold Flame HQ. Meanwhile Cold Flame Acoustic are available for all manner of private functions with weddings a speciality. Contact info@cold-flame.co.uk for all enquiries.
THE WEBSITE / MY SPACE
There have been some additions to the site since the last News page. Check out in particular the latest pictures from Italy in the Gallery section. We now have some excellent new live pics of the band taken on our webmasters very expensive camera. Additionally there are some live and casual pics of CFA. Please note that we are aware of downloading problems with these new pics and will be rectifying this asap. We have also just updated the gig guide yet again and would recommend that you check the guide regularly as new dates can crop up at any time. Davyd has been busy working on an alternative to the now defunct message board and has now set up a myspace account which can be accessed at www.myspace.com/coldflameuk whilst messages can be posted at blog.myspace.com/coldflameuk Admittedly we have had some teething problems with Myspace but we now think that these issues have been resolved so have a look see and be our friend.
