MAY 2005
Time flies....Spring has already flexed it's muscles as we all now prepare for
yet another great British summer armed with wellies, gloves.raincoats, sheepskins
and a wide selection of colourful umbrellas. Time indeed for another well overdue
band update. For those of you who may have thought that we had all taken a break
from all things musical, rest assured that we have been busy with lots of different
projects which whilst keeping everyone fit and healthy has meant a reduction
in opportunities to play live. The band has in fact spent recent weeks rehearsing
and revamping material to unleash as part of a new set as from the end of this
month. We have also been working on a new studio album more of which later.Family
committments , easter holidays and house movings have also contributed to diary
madness.Ben has been doing some gigs with The Loscoes whilst Patrick has been
moonlighting with Big Chas and The Business.[www.northernbands.co.uk] All good
clean fun.
THE GIG GUIDE
Recently updated with new tour dates covering both Cold Flame's Tull tribute
and rock and blues shows throughout the next three months following which we
will be taking a short summer break. Some of the band's festival appearances
deserve additional mention.June 18th promises to be an interesting day with
the band playing two festivals. In the afternoon we are special guests at The
Glossop Blues and Folk Festival sharing a bill with Scottish folk legend Dick
Gaugahan whilst later that same evening Flame headline The One World Festival
in New Mills with support bands New Lights Big Band and The Hot Bananas.Definitely
worth a mention is the prestigeous WeyFest 2005 down in Frensham Surrey - a
two day event featuring some of the top names from the rock and folk world in
the UK. Expect further dates soon so check the guide regularly but in the meantime
log on to the links re our summer festival appearances. For those truly dedicated
fans who want a monthly email on where we might be playing just in case we slot
in a couple of low key ' unofficial ' gigs which may just happen - contact info@cold-flame.co.uk
and we will see what we can do.
NEW RELEASES
Following the recent sale of land and buildings part of which housed Shipwreck
,Studios Wal and his trusty team have now gone mobile and will therefore continue
to work with the band - a happy and successful tie up that already spans seven
years. Though recent developments hampered recording schedules we are now back
on track working on a brand new studio album which we hope will be available
by the Autumn. In case you are wondering....no we have not fogotten the Tull
tribute live tapes nor Patrick's revamped solo albums. So many things to do
- so little time to sort. We will keep you all informed - promised.
